A sound evaluation system is imperative to provide a feedback of the student’s progress to the parents, the teacher and the taught. In this institution evaluation is a continuous process which lakes the shape of class tests and terminals etc. at regular intervals. The assessment lc Ile purpose of promotion to the next higher class is done on the basis of the performance of the student in class tests and exams, spread over the entire term. The date of these exams will be intimated by the respective class teachers and date sheets given.

Classes I to II

The teaching and evaluation process is designed according to the Early Education Development Program (E.E.D.P) introduced by D.A.V. Education Board. The objective of evaluation is continuous and comprehensive assessment of the growth and development of the child in various areas of learning set in the curriculum. Child’s progress is measured by the teacher’s ongoing observations over the whole year, and not on a single test. Child’s progress is compared to his/her previous achievement and not to the achievement of other children.

There will be no formal examination till class II. Basic purpose of the teaching learning process is to develop communication skills, creativity, cognitive & social skills along with physical development and inculcation of positive values through storytelling, role play, enactment, visits, recitation and other such activities. The main aim is to make learning enjoyable and promote the overall personality, self confidence, thinking skills and ability to get along well with others. The academic session is divided into three terms

I Term from April to August

II Term from September to December

III Term from January to March

Classes III to V

There shall be 2 terms in an academic session.

First semester    March to September

Second semester    October to March

Each semester shall comprise of a unit test and a semester test.

Considerable weightage shall be given to the grades obtained in units and progress report shall be given to parents after each semester.

The day to day performance in each aspect of every child shall be observed and graded by the teacher.

For the holistic development of the students the skills which shall be assessed and Graded in addition to written and/creative skills are:

  • Listening skills
  • Conversation
  • Classroom interaction, activities
  • Recitation
  • Reading
  • Handwriting
  • Presentation of work (Note book assessment)
  • Completing assignments on time( Class work, Homework, Project work)
  • Participation in house activities
  • Personal and social traits

Classes VI to VIII

Promotion is based on the day-to-day work of the students throughout the year and also on the performance in the FA & SA Examination

Second term FA-3(10%) + FA-4 (10%)+SA-2-(30%)= 50%

Classes IX & X

The whole academic year has been divided into 2 terms:

First Term

FAI (10%) + FA2 (10%) + SA1 (30%) = 50%

Second Term

FA3 (10%) + FA4 (10%) + SA2 (30%) = 50%

FA - Formative Assessment: School based internal assessment

BA Summative Assessment: Question Papers & Marking Scheme supplied by Board and assessment carried out by the School.
